American Flag

If you don’t like government programs you should visit a 3rd world country where there’s no government programs and tell me how you like it. Visit Haiti where they don’t even have the basic necessities of a society. When folks get sick they have wait on help from another country. Unemployment benefits were created after the great depression, because folks nearly revolted against the government. During the great depression people were “REALLY” struggling and needed help. Visit the Niger Delta where there are no environmental regulations an oil leaks flow freely and nobody cleans up the water.

If you wanna shrink the size fo government, you can’t just nitpick at all the “liberal” programs. There are plenty of conservative spending programs too! I’m all for privatizing some elements of the government, but there are some common sense investments that the government can make. I don’t like my tax dollars going to government programs like missile defense systems in Europe and trillion-dollar military interventions. Don’t mind tax dollars going to infrastructure or technology investments.

 Imperialism 1.4

Americas problem is Imperialism. Valdimar Lenin put it best when he calims “Imperialism is the highest stage of Capitalism”   I’ll go further and say that every US war or  military intervention is the cause of capitalsim.  Hate to tell my  American Exceptionlists that there’s nothing conservative about military interventions and foreign occupations.  Two other countries already bankrupted their government trying to  conquer Afghanistain, and America next in line. At some point in time our creditors are going to get tired of financing American Exceptionalism.

We have all the signs of a dying empire crumbling infrastructure, broken healthcare system, broken immigration system, broken prison system,  record deficts and sky-rocketing debt. American Exceptionalism has no resources to solve the REAL PROBLEMS  that face this nation, instead it invest trillions in military interventions and escapades overseas.  American Exceptionalism has us burried in a 15 year occupation in “The Graveyard of Empires”.   American Exceptionalism has us in militatry interventions in 5 different countries in the middles east.

Global Warming Climate Change

Maybe time to retire the aforementioned terms from the political debate.  Instead, focus on sustainability and pollution.  Pollution is no hoax or conspiracy. Environmental sustainability is a more appealing term.

Taxes

Focus on a  broad tax reform.  The call for tax reform is at least one populist messege that Dems can capitalize on.  Instead of pushing tax increases push  for a tax code overhaul.

Deficit and Debt

Deficit reduction is inevitable.  Beat the GOP to the punch!!  Come up with Democrat led ideas to reduce the deficit.   With a 60  Tea Party/GOP majority in the house you have no choice. There has to be progressive/liberal ways to shrink the deficit and reduce spending.  Best to have a bargaining chip than no ideas at all.

Play Centerfield

From the looks of things Obama will be well to the center of any GOP candidate who runs for POTUS in 2012.  Dems should already be on the prowl for Republican moderates and independentvoters   I have a feeling that the country will not like the rightward  tilt the country is making.   Be the centrist problem solver.

Everybody got to keep their tax break.  Whats the big deal?  By not raising taxes he has already won the tax argument for  the 2012 election.  By creating the deficit commission  he also won the argument on the deficit for 2012.  I can understand some wing nuts on the left being upset, but compromise is how an efficient  governemnt is suppose to work. If he didn’t make the compromise then  my taxes would of went up too! It was an unpopular decision, but it my have been the proper decision to make under the circumstances.

Base on the polls and the midterm election results he’s gonna have to move to the right.  Republicans  are going to have a  60 set majority in the house staring 2010!!  The entire country is gonna move the right , and he has to win back swing voters. If you think of how polarizing to days political climate is, it would be wise for the President  to be seen as the centrist problem solver.

One less talking point the Republicans can use!

A 15 year war and occupation?  In America we’re at war so often that this isn’t even news.  This is where  the Federal Government is over extending itself.  historically, it’s  always been conservatives who have warned us of the military industrial complex.  Where are they now?   Kudos to Ron Paul and son!

In the midst of a biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression the USA borrows hundred of billions of dollars a year  to wage war and then has the audacity to complain about debt and deficits.  We’re surely the laughing-stock of the world.!  Will US imperialism die in “The Graveyard of Empires”?  We’re a welfare and a warfare state.  Instead of jobs, jobs, jobs, its war, war, war!!    Read more NATO Combat Role In Afghanistan Could Pass 2014.

Its time to put up or shut up for all the so called deficit hawks in  the House and Senate.  I’m no deficit hawk myself, but I’m sick and tired of hearing folks on the right talk about the deficits.  There are two different groups out with proposals, lets pick the best idea’s out of both and make it happen.  Time to stop politicizing the problem and start tackling the problem. Everything has to be on the table.  If you say tax increases and military are off the table, then you’ re not serious… If you say medicare and social security are off the table then you’re not serious either.   Its time to grow up and go to work ladies and gentlemen

Boehner And Cantor

Just like the American people got tired of the Dems after two years, they will surely grow weary of GOP domination in all three branches of government. Traditionally we don’t like one party with all the power. I’m not saying the Dems are gonna win back the 60 plus House seats, but America will surely want checks and balances on a possible GOP controlled House and Senate. Two years ago we thought the GOP was dead and now they’ve returned from the dead. The pendulum always turns in politics and this time the Dems are on the favorable side of history.

A lot of Dem voting blocks stayed away in the midterms. After we see the reality of GOP controlling all three branches, there will see a swift backlash just like we saw against the Dems in 2010. These voting blocks, especially immigrants and African-Americans and the youth will reunite in 2012 behind Obama. The potential GOP contenders don’t have the appeal for the ever-changing demographics of this country. Even if America doesn’t reject GOP policy, they will reject one party rule of all three branches of government, even independents will dislike the idea of one party rule.
